Revitalizing Spaces, Uplifting Lives
How Reliable Roofing, Siding & Windows Is Partnering with Mass Audubon to Deliver Sustainable Upgrades and Educational Opportunities
Good work should go beyond the surface.
That’s why at Reliable Roofing, Siding, and Windows, we’re committed to more than just high-quality, energy-efficient exterior renovations—we want to help build a more resilient, inclusive, and community-centered future for our younger generations.
In partnership with Mass Audubon, we’re advancing sustainability and equity through targeted building improvements and meaningful community support.
By updating older, outdated structures for greater energy efficiency, and funding programs that expand educational access, we’re helping to create a healthier environment and a brighter future for underserved students.
The Nest: A Space Reimagined for Learning and Discovery
One of our proudest contributions to date is The Nest, a once-aging structure transformed into a vibrant, state-of-the-art maker space at Mass Audubon’s Museum of American Bird Art in Canton, Massachusetts.
Located on a 124-acre bird sanctuary, The Nest has become a hub for creativity, science, and environmental education.
In 2023, we replaced 23 original single-pane windows with Bronze triple-pane Harvey Tribute energy-efficient windows by Harvey Windows and Doors. This essential upgrade helped bring new life to the space, blending timeless architecture with modern performance to support year-round use and environmental stewardship.
In 2024, Reliable was proud to help celebrate The Nest’s Grand Opening. Over 200 guests from the Metro South area attended the event to experience the revitalized space and discover firsthand the incredible programs and natural beauty Mass Audubon offers.
“This is more than just a building,” said Justin Whittaker, Content Strategist and Head of Marketing and Advertising at Reliable Roofing, Siding, and Windows. “The Nest represents the heart of a growing movement to bridge nature and innovation in ways that empower underserved students and local communities.”
Developed with a hands-on, project-based approach to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) education, The Nest equips students, educators, and artists with the tools and collaborative space to explore biodiversity, analyze water quality, participate in hands-on relief printing, and engage with advanced technologies, such as 3D printing and laser cutting.
The Nest stands as a model for how educational spaces can evolve to meet the needs of today’s learners, while nurturing a sustainable future for all.
Empowering Students Through Nature, Art & STEAM
This past spring, we co-sponsored a new pilot program that brought every 5th-grade student from Randolph Public Schools to The Nest for an immersive field trip experience. Over a two- week time period, nearly 265 students—and 35 accompanying staff and educators—explored biodiversity, participated in art-based science projects, and connected with the natural world like never before.
In a thank-you letter, Sean Kent, Arts and Nature Education Manager for Mass Audubon Metro South, shared:
“Thank you so much for the generous gift allowing every Randolph Public School 5th Grader to come to The Nest for a free field trip focused on biodiversity, art, and the scientific process… There will be a total of approximately 265 students plus about 35 teachers, chaperones, and support staff.”
The photos, feedback, and student creations we received after the trip were incredibly moving. These moments reminded us just how powerful a single experience in the right environment can be.
Driving Innovation in Accessibility and Inclusion
Our work with Mass Audubon didn’t stop there. We also helped to secure a new Glowforge Laser Engraver, and expand 3D printing capabilities at The Nest—tools already making a measurable difference.
In a follow-up, Kent noted:
“All the kids took home a 3D-printed spring peeper, but I’m also printing a 5x5x5-inch raised contour map of hills in western Massachusetts to be used on an All Persons Trail. This will allow someone who is visually impaired to feel the elevation and better understand the glacial history of the landscape they’re standing on.”
With the expansion of 3D printing and laser engraving capabilities, these technologies are now being used to produce custom in-house Braille signage and tactile elevation maps for Mass Audubon’s All Persons Trails, significantly enhancing accessibility for visually impaired individuals. Sean brought several Braille sign prototypes to the Perkins School for the Blind, where they received overwhelmingly positive feedback—a meaningful validation of his efforts and a significant milestone in advancing the accessibility of All Persons Trails.
This kind of innovation doesn’t just support inclusion—it fosters belonging.

Looking Ahead: A Lasting Impact Beyond 2025
At Reliable, we’re honored to be part of such an impactful cause changing how students learn, grow, and imagine their futures. Supporting this pilot program isn’t just an investment in STEAM education — it’s a commitment to equity, innovation, and opportunity for the students who need it most. We believe that when education is inclusive and inspiring, it has the power to unlock potential in every corner of our communities.
As Mass Audubon evaluates the success of this pilot, and explores its expansion statewide, our partnership will continue to open doors. Together, we’re bringing nature-based learning, scientific discovery, and creative exploration to more classrooms — enriching lives and redefining what’s possible in education.
Through our continued support of Mass Audubon’s sustainable upgrade initiatives, we’re helping to reimagine outdated facilities as vibrant, sustainable learning environments where every student feels welcome, empowered, and inspired. These spaces won’t just serve today’s learners — they will nurture the next generation of thinkers, innovators, and change-makers for decades to come.
Together, we’re doing more than just installations and sustainable improvements — we’re building possibility, one inspired student and one revitalized space at a time.
